Question Title Posted By Question Date
Being Uncomfortable in Church Settings Kris Sunday, November 14, 2010

Question:

I have always felt uncomfortable in any church setting. When I go, I fell panicky and out place. I fell like people are staring at me and judging me. I fell nervous and almost claustrophobic. When people at church approach me, I want to hurry and leave. I have a hard time listening and comprehending the service.

What is wrong with me? I do not get these feelings anywhere else.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Kris:

From your description, and assuming there is nothing psychiatric going on, you may be under demonic attack.

Think about when this began to happen. What was going on in your life at that time? Can you identify any behavior on your part, or behavior of someone else that might have triggered this? Could someone have place a curse on you? Or, did you commit some sin, or participate in some non-Christian activity, such as something new age, roll play games, Harry Potter, Ouija board, etc.? These sorts of things need to be renounced.

What I advise you to do is to follow the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance linked below and also take a look at our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog and choose whichever prayers that may apply to you. Certainly, I would use the Hedge Prayer of Protection and maybe the Breaking Curses and Spells.

If you wish, since you are not Catholic, you can edit the prayers or material that refer to things specifically Catholic in nature.

We will be praying for you.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
