Question: My wife has written to you before but not about this. I am asking this question on her behalf. My wife suffers from depression and anxiety. She takes medication for the depression (Zoloft) and no medication for the anxiety. Much of her anxiety is related to the extreme financial stress we have been under for several years. We have almost lost our home to foreclosure twice in the last few months and I am under/unemployed. My wife is uable to work at this time or atleast she does not feel up to being able to work. Of course she feels a lot of guilt becuase she blames herself for our financial problems. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Jose: Since your question pertains to spiritual warfare matters I have moved it to this forum. Well, presuming this is not a psychiatric problem, or for that matter even if it is, a demonic element may be present. We can go ahead with that presumption. The first thing your wife needs to do is to get a handle on the anger. Anger feeds demons. Instead of anger, perhaps she can pray a rosary, or a few Hail Mary's to try to calm down the anger. There are several prayers in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog that can be useful. The Hedge Protection prayers are the first that come to mind. Then, to deal with specific spirits we have the Rebuking Specific Spirits prayer. In this case she needs to rebuke the spirit of anger, the spirit that places pressure on her chest and stomach, and any other spirits (identified by their attributes) that may be involved. It would also be wise for both of you to follow the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. The Catalog and Seven Steps are linked at the bottom of this post. In addition, you can bless your bedroom with Holy Water each night, or if needed, bless the whole house. You can ask a priest to come an give a standard blessing. If there are a lot of phenomena going on in the house, then the House Cleansing and Blessing found in the Catalog may be used. We will be praying for her and for you. God Bless,
For information on how to receive help see our Help page. We suggest that before contacting us directly for help you try the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. These self-help steps will often resolve the problem. Also our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog contains many prayers that may be helpful. If needed you can ask for a Personal Consultation.
