Guatemalan Worry dolls | Linda | Saturday, May 1, 2010 |
Question: A neighbor returned from a trip and gave my daughter 2 little knitted bags with little dolls in them. He said they were 'good luck'. at first I figured I'd just disregard that part of it, call them just dolls and let my daughter have them. But it's been bugging me so I looked it up and they look alot like Guatemalan Worry dolls. Should I get rid of them or are they ok to keep as long as I don't 'use' them...(put them under her pillow so she can tell her worries to them). My 'gut' tells me that I should get rid of them, just to make sure. I don't know if there' sa negativity associated with them. But I don't want to over-react, either. Please advise. Thank you. |
