Odd pattern with patients George Thursday, April 22, 2010

Question:

Brother,

I have witnessed an odd pattern with some of my patients. I joke around with my wife from time to time because of the movie, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," where the investigator was repeatedly woken at 3am with weird things happening in her home. You see I can't tell you how many of my patients tell me they wake up at 3:00am with pain (I am a chiropractor, yes I have read what you think about them :) ) and just today I had a young female who woke at 3am with the "worst headache" in the past.

Now I don't automatically assume these cases are demonic as I do find valid objective findings (except the female patient as I was not treating her at the time) but I find it odd it is usually at that time. I have not yet researched any sleep studies.

The female patient was a young teenager with her mother's approval of birth control for sexual reasons. Birth control pills really mess with a perfectly healthy glandular system and forces it to cycle in an abnormal way and this can result in headaches sometimes severe but never the less even if it was or was not from the birth control it did happen at 3am.

I also have an MD friend who specializes in sleep studies and I have yet to ask him if any specific brainwave patterns or abnormalities in sleep cycles tend to happen at that time.

I was just wondering if you had any thoughts with this in relationship to spiritual warfare. Of course I can chalk this up to coinsedence but literally I hear this same story many many times. I really am not exaggerating. I have had patients have a hard time falling asleep due to pain for obvious reasons. But whenever they mention a time when they happen to "wake up in the middle of the night" to me its always the same thing. I pray for them just in case when I remember that night.

I know this is unnecessary but just so you know where I am coming from I studied at Palmer College and use researched methods and techniques taught in the core curriculum at the school to treat my patients. I stick to what is in the research and I am science based with my care with objective outcome assessments. Mainly range of motion, joint fixation, muscle hypertonicity and neurological indicators. I do not partake in any of the "new age" techniques which are frankly not taught at Palmer College, I can't speak for the other schools however.

Have you heard similar stories from your clients esp. when regards to pain? Is there any specific prayer I can use when they report this to me? Sorry this is so long!

Thank you for your time.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear George:

Well, come chiropractors are okay, as long as they stay within well-defined and appropriate parameters. Wink

This phenomenon of waking up at 3am, or thereabouts, is common in spiritual warfare situations. The reason for that is that 3am is the backside of the passion of Jesus at 3pm. This is a time when many occultists, Satanists, and some witches perform rituals.

There can be other reasons, however, for awaking at 3am. For example, it is not unusual for me to awaken about five hours into my sleep (from chronic pain). If a person typically goes to bed at 10pm that five hours will be a 3am. In my case, the five hours thing happens regardless of when I go to bed. If I go to bed at midnight, then I awaken at 5am.

One of the questions I ask my clients is when they usually go to bed. Whatever time that is I then ask if that number hours between their bedtime and 3am happens when they go to bed at other times. It is also important to ask the person if anything else goes on when they wake up (e.g., sense of fear, seeing shadows or some other paranormal phenomena, sense of malevolent presence, etc., but you may not be in position to ask things like that).

There is certainly some room for scientific investigation on this event, such as sleep studies, brain wave analysis, and the effects of pain on sleep, and such areas to determine if the number of hours between bedtime and when they wake at 3am could be attributed to some physiological, neurological, or medical phenomena.

Keep in mind that these situations, even if caused by explainable sources, can still have a demonic element sometimes. Rather than always causing or initiating problems, demons love to hitchhike on problems that already exist. They are opportunist. Thus, 3am having the significance it has for demons, it is possible for them to see a person waking up at 3am for whatever reasons and choose that time to influence or attack the person.

If the reason for the 3am awakening is demonically source, or if they are otherwise attacked in some way when they happen to awaken at 3am, such attacks will be hard to stop unless the person is willing to dedicate themselves to God and live a good Christian life. Any prayers will have limited effect without their willingness to live a Godly life.

Nevertheless you can certainly pray a rebuking prayer for your patients (probably best to do this privately after they have left your office, or at the end of the day) such as:

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His name, I ask of the heavenly Father to rebuke whatever spirit is awakening my patient at around 3am, and to command it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to depart from ______, now, quietly, without harm to anyone.

I bring the power and the protection of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ over ______.

Heavenly Father, forgive ______ for not being all he/she should be in Your eyes. If ______ is baptized let the cleansing, healing waters of his/her baptism wash over him/her and cleanse him/her from all unrighteousness.

If ______ is away from the Faith, please send your Holy Spirit to encourage, inspire, and instill a love of you that he/she will re-dedicate himself/herself to you and thus receive all the graces of deliverance and healing that you have to offer.

If ______ is not a Christian, please send your Holy Spirit to convince him/her of your love and the need to profess your Son, Jesus Christ, and be converted that he/she will receive all the graces of deliverance and healing that you have to offer.

Lord Jesus, bring to bear ______ guardian angel, and all the angels of heaven, against the forces of evil that seek to cause trouble for ______.

Saint Michael, be ______ protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and our Mother, pray for _____ that he/she may not fall into the devil’s temptations.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for setting ______ free. I praise You, I bless You, I worship You. Thank You for the wisdom and light of the Holy Spirit.

Thank You for enabling me to be aggressive against the works of the enemy on behalf of ______. Thank You for Your hope, that takes away discouragement; thank You for ongoing victory. “…in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). Amen.

While a Rebuking Prayer (different one, see our Spiritual Warfare Catalog linked below), and other prayers, should be said by the person himself, to do that involves you talking to them about a possible demonic issue. That may scare them, and also, if they are concerned, it may lead them to want specific help. While you are not qualified to counsel with them, you can refer anyone to us if you feel there is a possibility of a demonic involvement and the patient is open to breaching the subject.

If your patients are open to it, a general Bedtime Protection prayer can be given to them:

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His Name, I subject my mind and my dreams only to the work of the Holy Spirit. I ask you Lord to bind up all powers of darkness and forbid them to work in my dreams or any part of my subconscious while I sleep. Amen.

If the patient is not Catholic, the part in green can be left out.

Otherwise, to help them more specifically with a demonic problem will require a referral to us in which we will interview the person to see what needs to be done.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
