Bayside demonic element? Lucy Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Question:

Bro. Ignatius Mary’s reply to “John Paul 2 an apostasy? antichrist?” (Faith and Spirituality Forum, Wednesday, October 28, 2009) said: “The Bayside apparition is a false apparition and officially condemned by the Church. Given what happened there it is pretty clear that there was a demonic element I think.”

When I was a young, my mother took my family to Bayside. She had us saving blessed candles and olives for the three days of darkness. I didn’t think I would live past grade school. Once I thought I saw a horrible hand creeping over the back of the couch. Maybe it was just my imagination.

I hated Bayside and “Mary, Helper of Mothers” (to abuse their children). I resisted my mother’s pressure as much as I could and finally made it clear that I rejected Bayside. I have suffered greatly for my rejection of it.

My mother still believes in Bayside, goes there occasionally, and finds all sorts of reasons why the Church is wrong to condemn it and her other schismatic groups. I think my suffering may have released some of Bayside’s hold on her. I see progress. I’ve shared with her information from your site and am praying for her.

I understand that combating schism involves apologetics and prayer, but I’m concerned by the mention of a “demonic element” in Bayside. My mother told me that when she was young, she and some friends played with a Ouija board and strange things happened.

She has rose petals supposedly “blessed” by Jesus and Mary at Bayside. She puts them places and doesn’t tell you. I don’t think I feel evil associated with them, but could these have a demonic element attached to them?

I want to get rid of them, but how? I sprinkle holy water on them and pray for my family’s release from the evils of Bayside. What else should I do?

Also, what should one do with literature from Bayside, copies of The Poem of the Man God, and other erroneous materials?

God Bless you for the work you do!
Thank you.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Lucy:

I am sorry to hear about your mother's bondage to this fake visionary. We need to pray for her that she will be delivered from this bondage and learn to trust God and His Church (who are qualified to determine whether or not a apparition is true or not. Your mother is not qualified).

The rose pedals were not blessed by Jesus and Mary since Bayside is fake. Jesus and Mary was never there.

Things like ouja boards and the like need to be renounced. I would recommend the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance for your mother, if she is willing to do it.

Bayside materials and books, and Poem of the Man-God, and all such erroneous materials and such should be burned, not thrown away, but burned so that others will not get their hands on them. We have a procedure about how to destroy such things. While this procedure is specific to Cursed objects, the same ritual can be used to destroy materials Bayside pamphlets and such. Besides, since Bayside is not of God, demons might have attached themselves to these materials. Better safe than sorry, as they say.

Take a look at the Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog linked below to see if there are any prayers useful to you. The Hedge Prayer of Protection, Rebuking Particular Spirits (like the spirit of deceit, delusion, and rebellion in your mother's case), and any others that are useful.

Of course, it would be best that your mother pray these prayers, but you can pray for her. You can change the wording appropriate to pray prayers for your mother that she will not pray for herself.

Be sure to pray the Renunciation of Ancestral Sin for yourself in order to close the door from any attempt of demons harassing you because of your mother's sin.

Pray for her.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
