Question:

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this but I was wondering what the church and yourself think of this man? How could someone perhaps possessed suppossedly help so many people? It's really strange to me. I came close to really researching this man but now recognize this as a temptation. Are there any reports of people being demonized from taking this mans advice? The media and of course discovery or TLC only have positive things to say abou him. Thank you brother. I am using this name because I have been sending friends to this site and wish to remain anonymous.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Joe:

Edgar Casey is like all other psychics. He is a fraud, and/or any information he received outside of himself came from the devil.

As for the future, no one but God knows the future.

We never hear of the thousands of predictions of these people that never come true; we only hear about the very few that do. Anyone can make a prediction if we examine the variables. The more variables we know (and some have observational skills better than others), the more possible the prediction will be true.

Angels and demons and humans can only surmise the future from the available evidence at hand to make a prediction. Angels and demons, however, have access to all variables leading to an event, which humans do not have, thus making it appear they know the future, but they do not, unless God reveals it to them. I do not think God reveals such information to demons.

God also does not reveal the future to people like Casey. Divination is condemned by God and is an abomination to Him.

I have no idea if Casey was possessed. At the very least we can say with certainty that he was used by the devil.

As for people being helped, the devil has no problem revealing information that may be helpful to people if it leads them away from God. This false credibility led many people away from God to listen to people like Casey. Thus, no one was truly helped by him or anyone like him. One is not helped by being lead astray of God.

Is it possible to become demonized oneself by listening to people like Casey? Yes. We have had many clients whose demonological problems began or were intensified by them seeking out psychics and diviners.

You are very wise to recognize that it was a temptation to look into this man. Avoid that temptation and never indulge it.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
