My husband records spirits in the house | Elizabeth | Monday, September 7, 2009 |
Question: I have asked my husband to not record EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) in the house because he was picking up spirit voices that actually spoke to him and also spoke about what we were talking about. He has promised he wouldn't several times but he continues to do so. It's his hobby. Now we have unexplained 'activity' in the house. He knows I have asked a priest to come in and bless the house this Friday morning. (7/11/09). Isn't this an insult to God to continue this after the blessing and even before? We were not married in the Catholic Church. I'm feeling like I have to choose Jesus or my husband and of course I would leave him for Jesus if he doesnt' stop this occult activity. Thank you. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Elizabeth: It sounds like your husband is using EVPs to communicate with spirits. This is resoundingly condemned by the Church, and it is profoundly stupid and foolish. I am not surprised that paranormal activity is beginning in your house. The house does need to be blessed, but this will have no effect if your husband continues flirting with the devil. He must stop immediately. Your husband needs to renounce this "hobby" and ask forgiveness from God for breaking the First Commandment. If you are Catholic then you need to have your marriage blessed in the Church if you have not already done so. Until then you cannot receive the Sacraments. To be married outside of the Church is an invitation to the devil. To play around with EVPs like your husband is doing is asking for it. Now that "activity" has started, you and he need to get right with God more than ever, start living a godly life in the Church, and develop daily devotions and prayer. I would recommend the Seven Steps for Self-Deliverance linked below and the SW Prayer Catalog. This stuff is not a game. It is playing with fire and if your husband does not stop it and renounce it he an endanger himself, you, and any children you have for generations. We will be in prayer for you and your husband. God Bless,
