Question: I have major depression and tried to commit suicide a few weeks ago. So, my mom put me in a crisis stabilization unit for a while to keep me from harming/ and or trying to kill myself agin. I got dischaged yesterday and see a phsycologist once a week for over an hour, and a psychiatrist. My psychiatrist prescribed medication for me. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Marcella: We will be praying for you, Marcella. It is very important for you to follow your doctor's instructions and to take any medications he prescribes. Life is worth living. The depression you have is caused not from life, but from brain chemistry. The medication should help on that aspect. But, you need to know that you are a valuable and worthwhile person. You deserve to live. Counselors may be able to help you with the self-esteem, anger, and cutting issues, medication may help with the depression and thoughts of suicide. Hang in there and in time things will be better. God knows your heart. He loves you very much. God understands what you are going through and will help you if you ask Him. Ask our Lord, Marcella, to help you. He will never abandon you. You are very valuable to Him, you are His daughter and He loves His children. We will be praying for you. God Bless, For information on how to receive help see our Help page. We suggest that before contacting us directly for help you try the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance.
