Question: Hi, I asked a question before regarding the lifeteen mass. It now seems they will be making changes. Were you aware of this? |

Question Answered by Mr. Jacob Slavek
Dear Robin, I am not very familiar with the Lifeteen "Mass" but it seems to be that individual groups do whatever they want and call it "Lifeteen". There is no "official" Lifeteen way of celebrating Mass. So any future changes that they would make to their own traditions really have no force of law at all. However if you are referring to Lifeteen in general, yes I am aware that they do many things that are illicit and abuses. There is only one way to celebrate Mass. That is to celebrate it according to the Roman Missal. (Latin Rite) This can only be changed by Rome, and not by groups of young adults and teens. Mr. Slavek Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers. (b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks. (c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively. |
