Question:

Shalom,

I am receiving the sacraments on Holy Saturday, including Baptism, but have practiced the Faith for a while now - am just technically and properly joining. I come from an unfortunate spiritual background - so much witchcraft, an evil father, I grew up not realizing that Jesus was real, and so on.

My sister married a Satanic man, and they eventually divorced. She has never been confirmed, and their wedding was in a garden. They have a 9-year-old son, who I have every day while she works long hours, and I put time and effort into basically raising him. He seems to love the Lord, hates it when people take His name in vain, gets angry when people harm "God's animals" - I am impressed.

When he was a baby, my mother and I got a priest in to bless him, as well as me, our home, our cat, and some visiting friends. I have tried inviting my sister to church, and she has responded most arrogantly. If she is condemned, my conscience is clear, as I have told her all about the Faith. Her son is unbaptized, but very interested in tales of miracles and saints that I tell him about. He says he wishes he could come to my church. Are his rights being neglected?

I am not his godmother, and have no rights to take him to church when his parents seem to have no interest in our Faith. Does it sound as if he is being called, even if it is only years from now? My cousin, also raised within the evil of the family, has also been received into the Church. Some of us are rebelling against the evil into which we were born. It is a long story, that will hopefully have a happy ending.

Thanks,
Angel
