Liturgy of Hours online | Paul Michael | Wednesday, February 18, 2009 |
Question: Just to let everyone know, I discovered the Liturgy of Hours is online as a pod cast (for a full week) usually the Morning, Evening, and Night prayers. There is a variety of music used for Hymns, and prayer is like being in a group. The four volume Liturgy of Hours, or Christian Prayer (single volume) are used. Check this website: http://divineoffice.org/ Those who sign up may participate in voicing positive concerns for making the site better. It is well done! Hope this answers any questions on this topic. God bless. |

Question Answered by Mr. Jacob Slavek
Dear Paul, I'm happy to pass this link along. I remember how overwhelmed I was when I first learned the Divine Office. I know the website divineoffice.org doesn't claim to be only a tutorial(it says that they are a podcast), but nonetheless is it a prayer aid for the laity who are just getting started because of the "step by step" instructions. Mr. Slavek Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers. (b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks. (c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively. |
