Re. Video or other resource for adult catechesis of the Mass Matthaeus Monday, February 2, 2009

Question:

With regard to John's question, he might be interested in the work done by Fr. Tim Finigan, Parish Priest of Blackfen in the UK.

Father has done a great deal to enhance the liturgical life of the parish, both developing reverence and appreciation of the Ordinary form of Mass, and, following the motu proprio, providing the option of the Extraordinary Form. He has also reintroduced many devotions. His semons usually involve good catechesis of the type that John mentions (and probably owe much to his experience as a Seminary lecturer in Sacramental Theology), and I am sure he would be willing to offer advice.

Fr. Finigan's blog can be found at http://www.the-hermeneutic-of-continuity.blogspot.com/ and his parish wbsite at http://www.rosary.freeuk.com/

Hope this is of help.

Yours in Christ,
Matthaeus.

Dear Matthaeus,I can't endorse Dr. Finigan's work yet because I am not familiar with him, but the webpages you provided looked good enough so I'm happy to at least pass along the links.Mr. Slavek
Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers.

(b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks.

(c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively.
