Rejected Questions | Sally | Monday, April 23, 2007 |
Question: I have been reading these forums for several years. I am happy to see that you have reopened them. I have noticed that sometimes you receive alleged questions that are very hateful and anti-Catholic. Do you ever reject questions? |

[Moderator's Note: This question was originally posted in the Faith and Spirituality Forum. We repost it here since it is a question that applies to all of our Q&A Forums.] Dear Sally: Yes, we do reject questions sometimes. It is the policy of our Q & A Apostolate that any of our Hosts may reject a question that is rude, hateful, abusive, or argumentative. Normally, we leave this decision up to the discretion of the Host. For myself, I tend to answer almost all questions regardless of how hateful or abusive they may be. But I do reject questions. Generally, I will go ahead and answer such a question if I feel it has some educative value. If it has no educative value, or I am just weary of the nonsense that day, I will reject the question. Those who post questions to our Q & A Forums should be aware of the Posting Guidelines and our Protocols and Rules. I have copied a few of these protocols below that relate directly to abusive questions:
