Welcome Back: Liturgy Forum Reopens | Bro. Ignatius Mary | Tuesday, April 17, 2007 |
Question: The Liturgy and Liturgical Law Question and Answer Forum is now reopened. We welcome back Jacob as Forum Host. We thank him for his time and efforts to answer questions for our apostolate. Be good to him, he is a volunteer offering his services from the kindness of his heart. As a reminder to readers our Apostolate is loyal and obedient to the Pope and Magisterium of the Catholic Church, thus we do not entertain debates on liturgical issues such as the arguments of Tridentine Mass vs. "Novus Ordo" Mass, or the status of the SSPX. Our position is the Church's position. We have no personal opinions about these matters. Whatever the Church says about these issues, that is what we will report. Thus, please do not post questions that are arguments about these matters. Where the Church speaks, we listen. When the Church speaks, the debate is ended. May God Bless, and welcome back Jacob. |

Question Answered by Mr. Jacob Slavek
Dear Bro. Ignatius Mary, Thank you for welcoming me back to the forum. :-) Mr. Slavek Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers. (b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks. (c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively. |
