Question Answered by Mr. Jacob Slavek
Dear John, According to my map of World religions, Sweden is largely Lutheran, which is a Protestant religion. I don't know if you yourself are Lutheran or Catholic, but men from all over the world go to Rome to study for the Catholic Priesthood. Most I believe study in Rome to be ordained back in their home country. I would ask a Catholic Priest near your area if there is one, I'm sure that he would be able to connect you with someone that can help you. Priests who perform the Rite of Exorcism did not specifically study in the seminary for that purpose. Although candidates do study the rite in the seminary, it is not until much later that they are actually chosen for exorcisms. Priests themselves do not actively pursue this ministry, rather the bishops decide usually quietly which priest is the best choice among those who have already been ordained for many years. Let me know if I can be of further help, Mr. Slavek Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers. (b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks. (c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively. |
