Question: Brother, Can you please recommend a good Catholic bible study resource? I do not mean a bible that has commentary. Most of the commentary bibles are too large. Plus, I like my bible and want to use it. I am looking for something to use with my own RSV bible that gives assignments, explains what the particular book (eg. Job) is saying and some questions to get you actually thinking and comprehending what you read. Hopefully this would have a lesson on every book in the Old and New Testaments. Is there anything like this out there? Thanks. |

Dear Trevor: There is no reason you cannot use your primary Bible with supplementary material such as commentary bibles. I do it all the time. The best sources for commentary out there are:
And I sometimes check the NAB Study Bible notes. The NAB also has Introductions before each book. These next two are very hard to find, but are excellent:
For a systematic program of study, I recommend Scott Hahn's Bible study at the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
