Question: IM not sure if the Catholic faith would allow this but when my husband and I were first married we were BOTH horrible at sex. What helped us was open and honest communication about what made us tick sexually.basically we had to teach each other how to ahhh curl the others toes. It can be very rewarding to learn about eachother this way. Also a copy of the Joy of Sex can help. We also use a small egg shaped vibrator so I can stimulate my self as we makelove. Note the egg is not for solo masterbation but stimulation and enhancement of our love makeing. God bless |

***** Dear Debora: Open communication is good and necessary for a successful marriage in general, and for a good relationship in the marital embrace. The use of a vibrator, on the other hand, even though used for foreplay or aid during coitus as the attitude of trying to reach to most toe curling experience may be a little problematic. The marital embrace is suppose to be a holy act of mutual self-giving in love not an exercise to experience the greatest and best organism. The focus on achieving the greatest orgasm focuses on sex for sex sake and on what one can get out of it for oneself instead of the mutual self-giving in love that the marital embrace is meant to be. It is not so important to achieve the greatest toe curling experience. What is important is to give of oneself completely to another in this most intimate act of love.
