Resources for scrupulosity Jay Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Question:

I suffer from scrupulosity, and I was recommended books by Dennis and Matt Linn to help me through this difficulty. Are you aware of their books, and if so, would you recommend them? I was thinking about getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0809140292/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Jay:

I am not familiar with that book, but I did notice that the book is endorsed by Richard Rohr. That is a red flag to me. Richard Rohr is into New Age garbage and the like in opposition to the Church.

I would recommend the following Scrupulous Anonymous and the book Understanding Scrupulosity: Helpful Answers for Those Who Experience Nagging Questions and Doubts by Fr. Thomas Santa.

Here is an article by the Father from This Rock Magazine: Thoughts That Will Not Go Away: Scrupulosity and How to Overcome It

I think these sources will be your best resource.

God bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
