Question Title Posted By Question Date
giving something up for Lent Barbara Monday, February 4, 2008

Question:

I am confused and cannot remember if it was ok on Sundays to do or have what ever you gave up for Lent. Grandchildren have asked and I am not sure. I do not want to give them wrong answer. Thank you and God Bless You

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Barbara:

Sundays are Feast Days. That means they are times to Feast, not abstain. The Lenten penances and mortifications are suspended on Sunday.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
