Mother and Child Baptism | Ali | Wednesday, January 23, 2008 |
Question: Wanting to know if I can have the same Godparent as my daughter. Currently attending RCIA and planning an Easter baptism with my then to be 5 month old daughter. I was reading that some people choose their sponsor from RCIA. I wasn't sure also if someone is already a Godparent can they be for others? thanks |

Dear Ali: As far as I know both you and your daughter can have the same Godparent. There doesn't appear to be any impediment to this in Canon Law nor in the General Introduction to Christian Initiation that I can find. You need to check with your pastor.
