Question:

When saying the rosary the Blessed Mother promises no calamity in your life, is this true ?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Elaine:

God never promises us that we will never experience calamity, hardship, heartbreak, trials, tribulations, sorrows, adversities, illness, or death. These are all consequences of original sin. It is part of life.

What God does promise is that "...all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Rom 8:28).

This verse does not say that all things will be good, but that all things (good and bad) will work together for good to those who love God.

God can bring goodness out of evil. Or to put it another way, God does not prevent lemons in our life, but if we let Him, He will make sweet lemonade from those lemons.

The Rosary is one of the ways God has given us, through the intercessions of our Blessed Mother, to obtain the lemonade.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
