Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Nick: The link I posted last time is to a page that includes many different editions of the Divine Office that are available. The reason I posted it was primarily to direct you to the Official Latin version which is linked toward the bottom of that page. The Latin version is rather expensive, but I thought I would mention it. To set the context a little -- Just before the Gospel Canticle is the Responsory and before that the Reading. The posture during the Reading is sitting, but just before coming to the last line of the Responsory one should stand and then make a profound bow. Thus, the gesture when saying, Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, is a profound bow (and not the sign of the Cross). One returns to a standing posture as the last phrase recited, Christ, son of the living God, have mercy on us, and continues to stand until the end of the Office. The Antiphon is recited and then the Sign of the Cross is made as you are reciting the first line of the Gospel Canticle.
I praise God that you are in discernment about the priesthood. We will certainly be in prayer for your vocation. God bless,
