Could you please offer any insight you might have as to why some Christians experience dramatic supernatural blessings/events while others never seem to?

I've noticed that a handful of my relatives have had such occurrences, particularly my father. Throughout my own life I have been blessed with a string of occasional, miraculous events ranging from experiences of words and answers being completely given to me while witnessing to others about Christ, to having Christ appear before me with a direct, verbal answer to a prayer, to having a miraculous, sweet smell emanate from a sacramental item worn during Mass.

Though I am ever trying to live a good, Catholic, sacramental life, I know better than to think it is because I deserve or have earned such blessings, because sometimes they happen when I am not even particularly tuned into my faith and they are always unexpected, unsolicited.

I don't talk much about these experiences because it makes me uncomfortable, but I will always be grateful for them. Still, I feel completely bewildered. Why me?

Is it possible that some people are just more open to or sensitive to the supernatural? If there is such a thing as sensitivity to the supernatural, can it run in families? Thank you and God Bless!
