Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Suzanne: Owning a piece of Egyptian art is not a problem. The primary problem of your previous question was the wearing of a tattoo (or jewelry) with symbols of an Egyptian god. Wearing such symbols is an implication of your endorsement of those false gods. Otherwise, as long as owning Egyptian art is not a subtle act of worship on your part, there is nothing wrong with owning artwork. (A jewelry box can be artwork). Just make sure your fascination with the ancient world does not lead you away from the True God. If your interest even remotely does that then you need to cease all interest in artifacts and art of ancient Egypt. Do not let ANYTHING get in the way, water down, or in any way negatively affect your relationship with God. God Bless,
