Dear Linda:

God knows the very minute we will die and how. He knows every word will will speak twenty years from now.

There is no such thing as time to God. God is outside of time and space. To Him all of the past and all of the future is contained in the RIGHT NOW -- the eternal present. He sees the entire human history and the entire human future all at once.

Thus, he knows the date and time that we will be in an accident or when someone will murder us or whatever.

His knowledge of our future, however, does not interfere with our free will.

One analogy that may help to understand how this is possible is to consider an old married couple who have been married happily for 60 years. They know each other so well that they can finish each other's sentences. The wife may "know" what her husband will do in a particular situation before he does it because she knows him so well. This knowledge of hers, however, does not mean that she forced her husband to do this or that. The husband still made his free will choices, it is just that she knows him so well that she can accurately predict how he will behave.

This is an inadequate analogy since God's knowledge is not based on knowing us so well that he can predict what we will do, but on an absolute positive knowledge of the future, but it might help to at least understand the concept a little.
