Rosary and assigned days | Sean | Wednesday, September 12, 2007 |
Question: Our parish has a retreat coming up and we are going to do Stations of the Cross on Thursday evening. We would like to conduct a Rosary prior to the Stations, but I would like to do the Sorrowful Mysteries instead of the Luminous Mysteries becasue they would have special meaning leading into the Station of the Cross. Is this OK? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Sean: The Rosary is a private devotion. As such, it is not regulated by Church Law. The appointed days for the different mysteries, therefore, are only suggestions. Thus, it is perfectly okay for you to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries on Thursday or any other day that you want. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
