Messianic Jews | Michael | Thursday, July 19, 2007 |
Question: Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what Messianic Judaism was all about. It is my basic understanding that they are Jews faithful to the Old Covenant and Torah, but accept Jesus as the Messiah. It seems totally contradictory and even blasphemous to accept Jesus as the Messiah, but not accept His New Covenant by adhering to the Old Law. Do you have any insight into what their beliefs are? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Michael: I really do not know much about the Messianic Jews sect. It seems to be a group that is neither Jewish or Christian. The Jewish religious sects don't claim them, and their ideas about Jesus and Christianity seem to be quite irregular. Thus, it seems that they are just another off-shoot of people who claim themselves as their own authority. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
