Going to Mass Ken Thursday, July 19, 2007

Question:

Brother, I was wondering is it ok to go to Mass everyday. Lately I' ve had an urge to attend Mass everyday. I do pray the Rosary daily. I've been Catholic for about a year.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Ken:

One hundred years ago the Church did not allow the Faithful to celebrate daily Mass. This was because the Church was concerned about whether or not the people were truly properly disposed.

The Church has changed that legislation. The Church now encourages daily Mass, but the issue of being properly disposed is still an issue.

Thus, yes, attend daily Mass. This will be a great grace for you. Receive communion daily IF you are properly disposed (in a state of grace).

If you need to go to Confession, still attend daily Mass but do not receive Communion until you have a chance to go to the Sacrament of Confession.

Daily Mass will give you a great grace. Those who much is given, much is required. Be open for all that God may have for you by virtue of your faithfulness and devotion.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
