Question:

Why is it that I can read a 400 pg novel in about 3 days, yet when I try to read the bible I can barely read a page before I get bored?

Who makes a good sturdy rosary Ive tried expensive ones and cheep ones all of of them are fragile junk not suited for daily use.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Farrell:

I do not know why you get bored with the Bible. Perhaps try to study the Bible rather than just reading it. Once you get into study you may find it fascinating. Also begin with the more interesting stories of the Bible. Anyone can get rather bored at the long lists of "begets".

Also think of the Bible has God's love letter to you. We cannot fail to read God's love letter.

And finally, pray a prayer of protection that the enemy will not interfere with your reading the Bible as to cause sleepiness.

As for a sturdy Rosary, ask around your parish for someone who makes rosaries. There is usually someone in each parish, or maybe ask at your local Catholic bookstore. When you find someone ask him to make you a sturdy rosary out of heavier gauge wire. That is what I did.

God bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
