Question:

ok the way i understand it is no one may masterbate male or female. however oral sex can go both ways a man can preform oral sex on his wife untill she climaxes any number of times. a womam can not do the same for her husband nor is mutual masterbation allowed for married couples. this makes no sense to me ive tried to understand it. in my opinion oral sex is masterbation just..... well oraly. also i dont really see how the story of onan is about masterbation, the way i read it and the way a rabbi friend explained it to me was that onan was killed by god for not provideing his dead brother childern by impregnateing his wife thus breaking levite law. id apretiate any clarification on this you can give.

Dear Ella:

Oral Sex is not masturbation. It is a form of foreplay (or afterplay). Masturbation is stimulating oneself for sexual pleasure and release.

The reason that oral sex or any other form of foreplay or afterplay can result in a woman's orgasm but not a man's is that the couple must be open to life. For a man to ejaculate outside of his wife's vagina is to be closed to life since life cannot occur under those circumstances.

As to "mutual" masturbation, there is no such thing really. A man can stimulate his wife to orgasm as part of foreplay or afterplay. A wife can stimulate her husband as part of foreplay or afterplay as long as she does not do this to the point of orgasm for the reasons mentioned above. But masturbation is defined as SELF stimulation for sexual pleasure and release.

As to Onan, that story has nothing to do with masturbation. Onan performed a contraceptive act in disobedience to God. If the story of Onan is to be used as an analogy, it is an analogy that shows that contraception is a sin.

I hope this helps to understand the issue.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
