Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Libby: Well, I do not think that celebrities and pro athletes are the biggest problem. They are but a symptom of a culture war with a broken moral compass. The Church combats this culture war by sticking-to-its-guns on moral issues. Frankly, the Catholic Church is the only faith group that has stood strong against the whims of fad and cultural changes in moral ideas. We, as members of the Church, and all Christians of any faith group, need to stand firm in our faith and in our moral integrity despite all the pressures from family, friends, co-workers, and society to do otherwise. The combat is to BE Christian. To accept that as Christians we are to be counter-cultural and to stand up for Christ and His Church and the moral virtue our faith teaches regardless of the pressures to do otherwise. We also need to pray for those people and for all people and for our society. We all need God. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
