Monstrance and SFS Claire Saturday, April 14, 2007

Question:

An SDA who considers the Church the whore of Babylon, used a picture of a monstrance showing the letters "SFS" under the rays on the stem. They try to say it represents (in pagan numerology) the mark of the beast: 666

I know this is ridiculous, yet if this were a true monstrance, what do the words SFS represent?

THank you and God Bless you,
from Claire

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Claire:

LOL, what will they come up with next?

I have seen the picture. There seems to be inscription fo ingraving underneath the SFS that looks like the Sacred Heart. Perhaps the SFS refers to the Society of hte Sacred Heart. Or maybe it is the initials of the Latin, Sine Fraude Sua, meaning "With no Deceit".

Who knows? I don't. Of course all this is assuming that the picture is even legit. These people have been known to perpetrate lies and hoaxes and half-truths to trash the Catholic Church.

The poor ding-aling who started all this writes that the SFS "looks like" Greek and Hebrew letters that stand for 666. Well, why mix them. Would it not have been SSS or FFF if it had meant 666? Besides the letters in the picture are NOT Greek or Hebrew letter so this person is merely saying they "look" like the Greek or Hebrew letters. Sheesh.

The cloud passing by my house right now LOOKS like a lion eating an elephant with the elephant looking having a head that looks like Brittany Spears.

I have never seen a Monstrance with this lettering. Assuming that the picture is even real, it most likely is initials for a order or society that owns the monstrance.

While we are at it, let us get rid of all symbols of paganism and solar representions (monstrance has a sunburst). One guy over in Catholic Anwsers provided a useful list:

clocks
wristwatches
steering wheels
plates
tires
thermostats (just the round kind)
phillips head screws (have a cross on top of a sun symbol)
the letter O on your keyboard
eyes (the iris contains a sunburst image)
round sink drains and stoppers
asterisks
Sunny Delight
Pontiac Sunbird
doctors (use the pagan caduceus as their symbol)
tomato slices
hamburgers and their accursed buns (except for Wendy's, which uses square, godly hamburgers)
Venus razors
Mercury automobiles
VULCAN-ized rubber
Mars Bars
Saturn automobiles
Pluto (Mickey Mouse's pagan dog)
all dogs (DOG is inverted GOD)
Dodge Aries
virgins (virgo, the latin word, is a pagan astrological symbol)
same for fish, crabs, lions, etc.
$20,000 Pyramid

Add to this list:

wedding rings (of pagan origin)

democracy (originates in pagan Greece according to pagan philosophy, and pagan Rome --- ooooo, pagan Rome, that will catch their eye :)

the Statue of Liberty

The dollar bill

the Cross (predates Christianity)

The Resurrection (a pre-Christian pagan myth)

and don't forget that some of the names of days of the week (i.e. Sunday, Thursday, etc.) and the name of some of the months (March, June, etc.) are names of pagan gods. Get rid of those days and months now.

Zero is of pagan origin, so we have to eliminate all numbers that have a zero :)

and on and on and on and on.....

These people need to see a psychiatrist.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
