Abuse of St. Joseph Statue Patriciaa Monday, April 2, 2007

Question:

Many people have taken a St. Joseph statue, turned it upside down, and then buried it in the ground in order to more quickly sell their house. To me this is a direct religious abuse of one of our more prominent saints and a disgraceful manner in which a prayer to St. Joseph is misused.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Patriciaa:

I agree with you completely. This practice to "sell" a house is pure superstition and is using St. Joseph as a talismon. Catholics who do this ought to be ashamed of themselves.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
