Palm branch | Renita | Sunday, February 13, 2005 |
Question: I would like to know what I should do with my palm branch from last Easter. I forgot to give it in for Ash Wednesday. Should I keep it until next year or should I dispose of it and if so, how? Thanks. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Renita: Since the Palm branch is blessed it must be used or disposed properly. I take my palm branches and fold them into crosses. I then place them in our chapel. Each palm branch represents each year for which I have been Catholic. (I am a convert. Use to be a Baptist preacher). If you wish to discard the palm branch you need to burn it and then bury the ashes in the ground. God bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
