Hi,

I just wanted to let you know of an experience that occured to me approximatley 15 years ago in 1989.

Back in 1989 I was a 15 year old girl. My mother died in July of that year in a car accident and I moved to Spain to live with my Aunty and Uncle (I am from Australia). I had been there for about 3 months when one night I was awakened by an extremley bright light in my bedroom, when I opened my eyes I clearly heard in english (no one in the house spoke english except for myself) the words "pray to the virgin mary" I was extremley frightened as you can imagine and closed my eyes (I was to scared to look around the room). I stayed with my eyes closed for a few seconds and only opened them when I heard a bang coming from the kitchen, at this stage I opened my eyes and the bright light was gone but was replaced with a light coming through my bedroom door which was ajar.

I got out of bed and went to see where the noise had come from...the fridge door was wide open and the banging would have been the fridge door against the wall. I closed the door and went to my aunty and uncles room, they were both asleep and I wakened them to see if they had heard anything...they hadnt. I went back to bed and stated reciting Hail Marys.

In the morning I checked the fridge and found that door would not sit slightly open (I was thinking that perhaps it hadnt been closed properly by the last person to use it the previouse night) the door would swing wide open straight away.

I know that the seems totally unbelieavable but I was hoping that someone could provide me with information as to what could have happened here.

There is nothing strange about me! I was a normal 15 year old girl (I wasnt overley religious though I am a catholic) and now that I think back to this I wonder if it was God or the Virgin Marys way of offering me comfort in the loss of my mother? I am an only child and my father had stayed in Australia while I went to live in Spain due to the terrible grief that I was experiencing.

Needles to say since then I have always prayed to the Virgin Mary.

I dont believe that this was the voice of the devil because why would he tell me to pray to the Virgin?

Any advice would be great.
