No one will talk to me | Theresa | Friday, November 19, 2004 |
Question: Thank you, Brother Ignatious. Sorry to bother, but half my original question was lost in cyberspace. In order to keep my family churched, and after an experience during which I am still sure I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit, I was volitionally baptised in a Southern Baptist Church and took their communion which I certainly understood to be grape juice and wafers. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM+
Dear Theresa: The issue of your marriages are moot since your husbands are dead. You are technically in single status. As for the being re-baptized and such in other churches you apparently have stopped attending the non-catholic fellowships. That is step one. Step Two is come to the Sacrament of Confession. It does not matter what sins you committed. You can repent from any and all sins and offer that repentance and contrition in the Sacrament of Confession. Once you are absolved and perform whatever penance assigned to you, and any other impediments are resolved (the priest will let you know it there is any paperwork to do because of the re-baptism. I do not know for sure, a simple confession may be all that is needed), then you can return to the Sacraments and begin living a good Catholic life. Make arrangements to receive the Sacrament of Confession as soon as possible and come home. God bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
