The set their own rules of orthodoxy apart from the Church. Both those we call "liberals" and those we call "Ultra-Traditionalist" are BOTH liberal because they both have the arrogance to define their own brand of orthodoxy in rebellion to the Church. Religious liberals, in a one-liner, are those who think they know more than the Pope. The set their own rules of orthodoxy apart from the Church.
