How did it happen? | Anne | Monday, September 26, 2016 |
Question: My sister was/is a Catholic, but she has not been going to church. The last time I visited her, I did not rent a car since transportation was provided by my daughter, who had many different plans. |

Dear Anne: I cannot answer your question as the reasons why people abandon the faith are an numerous as there are people who do it. Sometimes people find themselves derailed for some reason. That reason may be a tragedy, a disappointment, disagreement with Church teachings, influences of friends or teachers, involvement in new age or occult, or something like depression. Whatever the reason is for your sister, pray for her. Ask St. Monica for help. She prayed and prayed for her wayward son. Shortly before her death her son finally came back to the Church. Her son, of course, was the great Saint Augustine. Concerning the paranormal issues, I advise that you pray the following prayers: Hedge Prayer for Return of Wayward Catholics Hedge Prayer for Protection of Others Proxy Deliverance Prayer for a Friend or Relative Persevere in prayers for her and we will too.
