Dear Emm: Here is Canon Law pertaining to Priestly dress and deportment:
There is no specific prohibition to wearing gold. Priest are to live simply, however, and void any semblence of vanity, as Canon 282 states. Personally, I do not wear gold. The ring of my profession is sterling silver which is needed to avoid a green finger Since I have not seen this priest, there is no way for me to even begin to make a judgment, if I were to make a judgment. It is the responsiblility of that priest's bishop to deal with this, if there is indeed a problem. Pray for him. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
