Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), LTh, DD
Dear Fred: This guy is just another fundamentalist who is ignorant of the Bible, anti-Catholic, and more — it is rather unusual, even for a fundamentalist, to have the idea to not shake hands with anyone not "born again." That idea is not what Jesus taught. The statement is made:
None of those passages refer to shaking hands with non-believers as demonic. Just ignore these people. As one of the verse quoted, 2 John 10-11:
P.S.. this passage does not say that it is demonic to greet such a person. Rather, it says that in greeting such a person in the context of giving approval of the person, we become accomplices of that person's wicked work. An example of this is when the Notre Dame University gave Obama an honorary degree. This is approving of Obama, which is a tacit approval, at the very least, of Obama's wicked work (abortion, homosexual marriage, etc.). Notre Dame, as a Catholic university, had no business doing this. Simply shaking someone's hand in ordinary greeting, as in saying "hello", is neither demonic nor a violation of any of these Bible passages.
