Question: Dearest Brother Ignatious, Not 5 minutes ago I was just in our laundry room and thinking about making supper as I emptied a wastebasket. As I started for the doorway, I saw a misty white figure pass by!! My heart is still pounding!! It occurs to me that I have been offering extra prayers for the souls in Purgatory lately and did so this morning. Is there anything I should do?
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), LTh, DD Dear Kristin: Usually when God allows a purgatorial "ghost" to appear to us it is not as a misty white figure. If this has only happened once, I would not worry about it. If your experience has inspired you to pray for those in purgatory, then the experience as been resulted in a positive result. If this happens more often then you may need to pray asking God to remove these spirits. Having the house blessed is one good way to deal with that. Dear Kristin:

Usually when God allows a purgatorial "ghost" to appear to us it is not as a misty white figure. If this has only happened once, I would not worry about it. If your experience has inspired you to pray for those in purgatory, then the experience as been resulted in a positive result.

If this happens more often then you may need to pray asking God to remove these spirits. Having the house blessed is one good way to deal with that.
