Fatima and People in Hell Christina Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Question:

Dear Brother Ignatius Mary:

The priests in my parish told me more than once that no one is in hell.

The holy spirit is guiding the church and the church never said that there is or is not people in hell.

I truly appreciate you assistance.

Thank you for clarifying this for me.
Christina

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), LTh, DD

Christina:

I have already answered your question. These priests are wrong and are flirting with heresy of universalism. The Church does say that people are in hell, just not who.

Those who die with mortal sin on their souls go to hell. This is dogma. From Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma:

The souls of those who die in the condition of personal grievous sin enter Hell. (De fide.) {that means it is dogma required by all Catholics lest they be heretics}

Hell is a place or state of eternal punishment inhabited by those rejected by
God.

The Athanasian Creed declares: "But those who have done evil will go
into eternal fire." D 40. Benedict XII declared in the Dogmatic Constitution
"Benedictus Deus": "According to God's general ordinance, the souls
of those who die in a personal grievous sin descend immediately into hell,
where they will be tormented by the pains of hell." D 531. C£ D 429,
464, 693, 835, 840.

As already quoted in my previous answer, Jesus said many will die in mortal sin and not reach heaven. He said the narrow way to heaven few will find.

I think these priests ought to be reported to the Bishop. They are leading people dangerously astray.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
