Question: Hello brother, After many years of prayer to get a job, God gave me this opportunity at Secretariat of Education. I know God helped me on this and everything in my life. Through the years I've learned to trust in God much more. But now I'm unhappy with my job. It's a good job, the benefits are not so bad, but I spent to much time doing nothing! It's a kind of job that I can do in 15 minutes. After that I have nothing more to do. My workmates spend this time on internet, talking stupid things, etc. But I have a reserved personlity, I'm a real catholic, and even if I check e-mails or talk a little, I still have free time. This situation is distressing me. I have potential to give more than that. I know God knows me and how I'm feeling, but I can't deal with that yet. Need some help here. Thank you, Susi

The solution, of course, if this job is not satisfactory to you is to begin seeking another job. In the meantime, or if you stay with your current job, you need to look to the opportunities you have in this situation, instead of seeing them as problems. Now, what I am about to suggest is dependent upon whether or not your employee allows you to do things not work-related. Given all the time you have is a wonderful opportunity. Think of all the books you can read, study the Catechism, the writings of the Saints, etc. You could even sign up for online college classes. Since these classes on online and you have so much time available, you might take such courses. You could also participate in the Liturgy of the Hours, take an online bible study course, like those from Scott Hahn. In other words, do not see this as a problem, but as an opportunity. Think creatively on how to spend your time. With all that said, you may also want to seek other employment. We will be praying for you. God Bless, Bro.
