In para 9:2 of the Didache, it thanks the Father "for the holy vine of David Thy servant, which You madest known to us through Jesus Thy Servant".

Para 10:6 refers to Son of David.

Which David(s) is it refering to?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM+

Dear Leslie:

The "holy vine of David" is the family line of David.

The "Son of David" is Jesus.

Jesus was the son of David by blood through his mother Mary who was of the line of David, and he was in the line of David legally through his foster father, Joseph who was also in the line of David.

The "David" referred to is King David.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
