Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), CCL, LTh, DD, LNDC

Dear Cass:

The address of the Pope is:

His Holiness, Pope Francis PP.
00120 Via del Pellegrino
Citta del Vaticano

or you can use the English version:

His Holiness Pope Francis
Apostolic Palace
00120 Vatican City

Note: Do NOT write "Italy" on the envelope. The Vatican is its own country. If "Italy" is on the envelope it will not likely reach the Vatican.

Obviously the Pope cannot read the millions of pieces of mail he receives. All mail to the Pope, however, is opened and read by secretaries and usually answered by a Vatican official on behalf of the Pope. Some mail will be given to the Pope personally if the issue requires it, or if the officials think the Pope will have a personal interest in it.

All mail does get read and attended to.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
