Question:

Dear Brother i am going through a crisis regarding regarding the new pope.I was so glad when he had been chosen ,now i am not so sure. Maybe because he is not like any other pope. then i heard he was a member of the rotary club who some say are associated with freemason and others say are not.The thing i think is missing is authority. God forgive me i cant help wonder is the church going to be turned up side down. Such thoughts could be from the devil himself .i cant help questioning. Thanks. God Bless always.

Der Maria:

Be Not Afraid. Pope Francis is a humble and holy man. Do not listen to nay sayers. Because he is a humble and holy man there will be many attacks upon him. Do not listen to them. Know that God has appointed him.

As for the rotary club, keep these things in mind:

1) the Rotary Club and the Freemasons are not the same thing.

2) while there does seem to be some problems with the Rotary Club, it not at this time formally forbidden to Catholics, while the Freemason are forbidden.

3) the reports say the Pope was given an honorary membership. An honorary membership is not the same thing as being a member. Even if this is true, even if he accepted the honorary membership, which I can find no credible sources to confirm this, we must withhold judgment as we do not know the facts of why he may have accepted. To do otherwise is the sin of rash judgment. Speculation is of the devil.

Also to keep in mind about the Papacy: Even if Satan himself was to be elected Pope, he could not change even a dotted "i" of infallible Church teaching. He may be able to cause some trouble, by God protects the faith; it cannot be changed by anyone.

We have had outright corrupt Popes in the past. The Faith never changed. We even had a Pope who reportedly murdered his predecessor to get the Chair of Peter in order to bring the Church into heresy. But, once he sat in the Chair of Peter, the Holy Spirit came over him and he could not go through with it. This was Pope Vigilinus. The Faith never changed.

God promises that nothing and no one can change the faith or prevail against the Church. God is not a liar and so we can be comforted by that.

As far as Pope Francis is concerned, judge him by what he actually does, not what mean-spirited people and conspiracy nuts say about him. Look to the man, not the accusations. I have seen nothing, not a single hint of anything negative in this man. He is a humble and very pastoral Pope, which is what he need in this time of history.

We owe our filial and personal allegiance, support, and love to the Pope. He is God's Vicar, the Prime Minister of King Jesus. Look to that, not the nay-sayers.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
