Question:

Brother,

I am a therapist. What can I do in terms of prayer to protect myself around someone suffering from SI on a spiritual level. Also, what prayers are effective to use for others.

Thank you.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), CCL, LTh, DD, LNDC

Dear Sarah:

We have prayers especially designed for the professional to protect themselves and to prayer on behalf of thier clients. You can find these prayers at the bottom of the page of our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog.

We will pray for you and your family, for your practice, and for your clients.

A note on suicide. I have had a lot of experience with suicide. I was on the board of directors of the very first organization designed to help survivors, and was specifically trained in suicide crisis counseling.

From those experiences, it is my opinion that whenever there is suicide ideation of any sort there is a demon hanging around. The devil loves suicide because it is the ultimate denial of life and the love God gives to us. We thank you for your work to help these people in such crises.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
