Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)
Dear Angel: Because of your background I would advise that you ask God to not give you any supernatural experiences. It is too easy to be duped by the devil, who can appear as an angel of light. In addition, for anyone having visions it is imperative that they be under spiritual direction. We can never, never trust our own interpretations of these experiences. God will not force visions upon you. If you ask God to not do this, and it happens anyway that is proof that the visions are not from God. The Bible tells us to to test the spirits. Thus, if something like this happens again, pray: "Father in heaven, if this is not happening from You, if this is not Your will, please take this away from me and have it never return." Then discuss this with a spiritual director, especially if the vision does not go away as even with this prayer there is always the possibility of a demonic source. Never, upon never, interpret a vision by oneself. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
