Question Title Posted By Question Date
why me and what does it mean Hans Saturday, December 15, 2012

Question:

hi my name's Hans and ill be straightforward with you. apparently I'm special and I say this in all modesty because I'm not even sure what that means. I have a thing with numbers as I see so many lay claim to as well so its hard to express the extreme magnitude of my findings and be met with any seriousness as people have destroyed the beauty there is to be found within numbers and patterns.

not to boast but rather solidify my credibility, I'll tell you the median score of 2 IQ tests I've been given is 159 so please know I maintain an unbiased standpoint when I say I believe I have the largest and most intricate compilation of coincidences of which the odds of it all happening the way it does is beyond astronomical. enough to where most of those who know just a tiny bit of it are already trying to say stuff like "your the chosen one" and makes me kinda uncomfortable.

I'm writing you because I need to know, whether you believe me or not, what does it mean to be "the chosen one"? I know I'm different and can prove it given the chance but why? what do I use my gifts for? I don't like the attention but I have to find out where all this has been leading up to. please help me. my biggest fear is dying without anyone ever hearing my story. its truly amazing

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Hans:

I changed your name from "the one" to Hans as "the one" is not a real name.

Please read carefully to what I am about to say...

The problem is what are you being chosen for, and who is doing the choosing? Well, God does not operate this way, so the choosing is being done by Satan, unless this is entirely a psychiatric issue, and even then Satan can exploit the vulnerability made available by any psychological issues. Just today there was a news story about a man who vandalized Catholic Church. He said God told him to do it.

The first step to trouble is to believe one is the "chosen one." Then eventually one may hear voices. Those will not be the voice of God.

Thus, before it is too late, you need to abandon this idea of your being "the chosen one." Mass Murderers have called themselves that. Cult leaders call themselves "the chosen one." You are not "the chosen one."

We can be chosen by God to do some task. For example, I believe God called me, that is chose me, to begin this Internet ministry. But, I am not The Chosen One.

The idea that you are the chosen one is a delusion that Satan is trying to put into your mind. Reject it. If you do no reject it you could find yourself demonized.

Frankly, your words here are almost a dictionary definition to grandiosity and delusion. Now, I cannot say that you are those things without interviewing you formally, but that is how you are sounding.

You need to get some perspective and that can come by sharing your "findings" with others competent to evaluate such things, and to respect their conclusions.

You identified yourself as a "Spiritualist." Spiritualism is from the devil. While there may be possible psychological issues here, the likelihood of a demonic intrusion in your experiences very high. You need to seek Jesus and make a profession of faith in Christ. If you did that, then part of what is happening to you may subside. Regardless of whether or not you become Christian, you need to reject these notions of "the chosen one" for both your psychological and spiritual health.

As for your IQ score, that is meaningless. I have spent most of my adult life around Ph.Ds, Mensa people (we use to go out to a club once a week to listen to live bands and talk and socialize so I got to know them very well), and have meet some of the most intelligent people in the world, such as Buckminster Fuller, who was on par with Einstein. From that experience I can tell you that these people have the same capacity for self-delusion, bias, and outright stupid moments as anyone else.

In the Catholic Church, if someone believes they have had a mystical experience, they must seek out a spiritual director. We cannot, and that means all of us, including you, cannot evaluate our own experiences or even interpret those experience on our own. The human person is just too prone to self-delusion and bias of our own experiences. You need to find someone like a spiritual director, but in this case it would be someone competent in higher math, such as a professional mathematician at your closest University.

Remember, coincidence is a very broad phenomena. Events that appear of be miracles can fall into the mathematical probabilities of coincidence. To repeat, you cannot evaluate this yourself. Your "findings" must be evaluated by others.

"The chosen one" is language typically found among the deluded, mentally ill, or even the demonized. Reject such notions. Reject the notion when others refer to it.

The fact that you feel uncomfortable about this, and have posted your question here, tells me that it is not too late. Do not get yourself trapped into psychological deterioration, or even demonization by pursuing this line of thinking. Start right now to reject the idea that you are the chosen one. Do not entertain that notion at all. Eradicate it from your mind. Tells others to stop referring to it. This is for your own safety and health.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
