Question:

Dear Mike,

Do we need to repent for "Original Sin".

Or am i correct in assuming that since "Original Sin' is not a sin in the sense of a "personal sin" (CCC 404-405), so the question of repenting does not arise.

God Bless,
Leon

Question Answered by

Dear Leon:

Original Sin is sin, but it is not personal sin. It is a state of sin we inherited from Adam and Eve. We are cleansed of Original Sin when we are validly baptized as infants. If we are baptized later, when we pass the age of accountability at around seven years of age, then original sin and all personal sins committed up to the time of baptism is wiped clean from our souls.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
